Important Shipping Information from FOCL

Over the last few weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of shipments that are delayed in transit from USPS. We realize this is extremely frustrating for you, as it is for us as well. We would like to provide you with the most up-to-date information available regarding our shipments and when you can expect to receive your order.


The following message appears on the top of every page on the USPS website:

USPS IS EXPERIENCING UNPRECEDENTED VOLUME INCREASES AND LIMITED EMPLOYEE AVAILABILITY DUE TO THE IMPACTS OF COVID-19. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE AND REMAIN COMMITTED TO DELIVERING THE HOLIDAYS TO YOU.


Please note that we do not have access to any additional information for your shipment than what is shown on the USPS tracking page.


As a result of the increased volume and limited employee availability due to Covid-19 and the holiday season, USPS has not been performing an initial scan of packages when they receive them. Instead, packages are not being scanned until they reach a stop along the way to their destination. As a result, tracking information has been incomplete and infrequently updated by USPS. This has caused some confusion as to whether a shipment is lost in transit or is still on the way. Rest assured that it is still on the way.


We are seeing a large number of shipments marked as “Arriving Late” or “Pre-Shipment”. What does this mean?


Arriving Late - This usually indicates that one of the USPS hubs along the route is backed up with shipments and they are working to get them all out. In some situations, we have seen packages in the “Arriving Late” status for a week or more. Packages marked as “Arriving Late” will ultimately deliver. Please keep checking the tracking information for an update.


Pre-Shipment - Normally, this status indicates that a label has been printed, but the package has not been picked up by USPS. However, because packages are not receiving their initial scan due to the volume increases and holiday season, “Pre-Shipment” status does not give us a clear explanation as to the actual status of the shipment. Most orders will be in “Pre-Shipment” status for just a day or two, but it could be a week or longer depending on the volume of shipments at USPS.
